Palacky University in Olomouc, the Coordinating Institution, is the second oldest university in the Czech Republic (founded in 1573) and educates almost 22 000 students at 8 faculties. The Department of Development & Environmental Studies (located in the Faculty of Science) is involved in the GLODEP master and offers the International Development Studies program at bachelor, master and doctoral level. Thus is the flagship university of development studies in Central and Eastern Europe. All programs are taught in Czech and the master program is also taught in English. The department is very active in international cooperation (e.g. student and staff exchanges with about 25 universities within the Erasmus+ program).

University of Clermont Auvergne, France
The University Clermont Auvergne was founded on January 1, 2017, with the merger of the two universities of Clermont-Ferrand, both created in the 16th century. With 36 000 students, among whom 6000 are of foreign nationalities, and 900 are PhD students, around 1300 researchers and professors-researchers, and 35 research centers, this new dynamic, attractive, and responsible university is open to its social, economic and cultural surroundings on its territories and on the world. The School of Economics, which is involved in the GLODEP program, designed a strategy for international development and is offering a master’s program in Development Economics, which is taught in French and English. The research center CERDI (Centre for Studies and Research on International Development) is affiliated with the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research). This affiliation is a recognition of research excellence.
Since obtaining the I-SITE label in 2017, the University of Clermont Auvergne has joined forces with other institutions linked to higher education and research in the region to unite around a common ambition: the creation of a university of teaching and research with a national and international dimension, strongly connected to its territorial environment and its region. Against this backdrop, the new Université Clermont Auvergne – Établissement Public Expérimental (EPE) came into being on 1 January 2021.
